Last Tuesday night AIGA Charlotte (local chapter of the professional association for design) hosted its bi-monthly meet|market at Tutto Mundo in the Southend area. This event is for designers and all other creative types to hang out and do a little networking. Currently I’m serving as the Financial Director on the board, and we are always looking for ways to make our events fun and interesting for the creative community. This past week was no exception as we hosted our very own music trivia night. In organizing the event, Nikki Mueller our Programming coordinator teamed up with Spencer, the house dj at Tutto Mundo, to create an exciting game not to be forgotten!
Teams consisted of four–five people and there was four rounds of fierce music trivia. Prizes such as t-shirts, posters, design books and even shots on the house were awarded to the runners up and winner of each round! My team “The Germy Jarms” consisted of fellow board members Carolyn, Taylor and Eye Design Studio’s Rhonda and her husband Mike. As the game started you could sense the level of competition in the room between all the teams. We felt pretty good about our answers after the first round and ended up with second place. As our confidence grew, next thing we knew we had won the next two rounds and finished in second place in the fourth round! The final speed round consisted of representatives from the winning team from the each round. Mike and I represented the Germy Jarms proudly and took home the prize as the first annual AIGA meet|market music trivia CHAMPIONS! At the end of the night we had each collected a design book, a few packs of holiday cards, t-shirts, yoga passes and were given the employee discount on all food and beverages at The Pewter Rose and Tutto Mundo for a month!
Be sure to keep an eye out for the next meet|market (and other AIGA Charlotte events) to see what exciting things are in store! Who knows, there might even be another music trivia night! All you music trivia rookies out there should come brushed up on your music knowledge because The Germy Jarms are hard to beat! - Joseph Schlosser, Eye Design Studio

I LOVE the zen like atmosphere when I come to your studio. So if you see me in the meeting room curled up with a cup of coffee from time to time, don’t mind me. I just like being in your space!
